Where creativity meets clarity — our legal framework, designed with the same care as our studio spaces.
The terms that turn empty space into your next masterpiece — clear, fair, and designed for creators.
Booking a session at Juniperriverlane is more than securing a space; it’s entering a partnership where your vision takes center stage. These terms ensure that partnership is as seamless as the natural light filtering through our floor-to-ceiling windows, and as reliable as the Phase One XT camera waiting for your touch. From cancellation policies to usage rights, every detail is crafted to protect your work while honoring the sanctity of the studio.
A 30% non-refundable deposit secures your date and time, held in trust until your session begins. This deposit is applied toward your final invoice, like the first brushstroke on a blank canvas — a commitment to the work ahead. Should you cancel within 72 hours of your booking, this deposit is forfeited, as the studio holds that time exclusively for you.
Sessions are booked in 4-hour blocks, with the first hour reserved for setup and the final 30 minutes for breakdown. Need more time? Overtime is billed at $120/hour, prorated to the minute, ensuring you never feel rushed as the golden hour fades. We’ll notify you at the 3-hour mark, so you can decide whether to extend or wrap with the light just right.
The studio is designed for up to 6 people per session, including photographers, assistants, and clients. Additional guests may be permitted with prior approval, but we ask that you respect the space’s intimacy — like a quiet café where every conversation feels intentional. For larger productions, contact us to discuss private buyouts or extended hours.
Our Profoto D2 lights, Broncolor modifiers, and Hasselblad H6D-400c are available for your use, but we ask that you treat them with the same reverence as your own gear. Any damage to studio equipment will be billed at full replacement cost, plus a 20% administrative fee. We’ll walk you through setup and safety protocols upon arrival, so you can focus on the shot, not the gear.
You retain full ownership of all images created during your session, but we reserve the right to use them for promotional purposes — think of it as your work gracing our walls, inspiring the next creator who walks through our doors. If you’d prefer to keep your images private, simply notify us in writing at the time of booking. For commercial shoots, usage rights must be negotiated separately with your client.
Life happens — we get it. Cancel or reschedule with more than 7 days’ notice, and we’ll refund your deposit or apply it to a future session. Within 7 days, your deposit is forfeited, but we’ll work with you to find a new date if possible. No-shows or same-day cancellations will be billed in full, as we’ve held that time and light just for you.
Final payment is due upon completion of your session, via credit card, bank transfer, or PayPal. Invoices are sent within 24 hours and include a detailed breakdown of your time, equipment used, and any additional services. Late payments are subject to a 1.5% monthly finance charge, so we can keep the lights on — literally and figuratively.
Juniperriverlane is a sanctuary for creativity, not a playground for recklessness. Smoking, vaping, or open flames are strictly prohibited, as are any activities that could damage the space or disrupt other creators. We trust you to treat the studio as you would your own home — with care, with respect, and with an eye for beauty in every detail.
How we collect, protect, and honor the trust you place in us — because your creativity deserves privacy as sacred as your work.
At Juniperriverlane, we believe privacy is the quiet space between inspiration and creation. It’s the assurance that your ideas, your contact details, and your creative process are held in confidence, just as your images are held in the frame. This policy outlines how we gather, use, and safeguard your information — not as a legal formality, but as a promise to treat your data with the same reverence we bring to every shoot.
When you book a session, we collect your name, email, phone number, and payment details — the essentials to confirm your reservation and ensure a seamless experience. If you subscribe to our journal, we’ll ask for your email to deliver insights on lighting techniques, composition, and the stories behind the shots. We never sell or share your information with third parties, except as required by law or with your explicit consent.
Your contact details allow us to send booking confirmations, session reminders, and invoices — the practical touchpoints that keep your shoot on track. We may also send occasional updates about studio news, new equipment, or exclusive offers, but you can opt out at any time. Your payment information is processed securely through Stripe or PayPal, never stored on our servers, and used solely to facilitate your session.
Our website uses cookies to enhance your experience, like remembering your preferred studio space or keeping you logged in to your booking dashboard. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our site, helping us improve the journey from first click to final shot. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not function as intended — like a camera without film.
We integrate with trusted partners to provide essential services: Stripe for payments, Calendly for bookings, and Mailchimp for our journal. These services have their own privacy policies, but we’ve vetted each one to ensure they meet our standards for security and transparency. Your data is never shared beyond what’s necessary to fulfill your request, like a lens cap protecting the glass beneath.
Your information is stored on encrypted servers, protected by firewalls and regular security audits. We use SSL encryption to secure data in transit, so your details travel safely from your device to ours. While no system is impervious to breaches, we’ve implemented industry-best practices to minimize risk — because your trust is as valuable as the work you create here.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. Simply email us at privacy@juniperriverlane, and we’ll respond within 48 hours. You can also opt out of marketing communications with a single click, or request a copy of the data we hold about you. We believe privacy is a right, not a privilege, and we’re here to honor that.
Juniperriverlane is a space for creators of all ages, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you’re a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us, and we’ll remove it promptly. Our studio is a sanctuary for imagination, and we’re committed to protecting the youngest dreamers among us.
As our studio evolves, so too may this policy. We’ll notify you of any significant changes via email or a prominent notice on our website, and we’ll update the "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this page. Your continued use of our services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms — like turning the page to a new chapter in your creative journey.
How we work together — terms as clear as the light in our north-facing studio, and as fair as the space we share.
Every great photograph begins with a shared understanding: of the light, of the subject, and of the space that holds them both. These terms of service are that understanding, written down — not to restrict, but to liberate. They outline what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and how we’ll navigate the creative process together, from the first click of the shutter to the final edit.
By booking a session, subscribing to our journal, or using our website, you agree to these terms of service, as well as our privacy policy and booking agreement. If you don’t agree, we’re sorry to see you go — but we respect your boundaries, just as we hope you’ll respect ours. These terms apply to all visitors, clients, and collaborators, like the golden rule of a shared creative space.
Juniperriverlane is a private studio, accessible only during your booked session or by prior arrangement. We ask that you arrive on time, ready to create, and that you treat the space — and the people in it — with respect. Disruptive, abusive, or unsafe behavior will result in immediate termination of your session, with no refund. We’re here to make art, not enemies.
You retain all rights to the images you create in our studio, but we ask that you credit Juniperriverlane when sharing them publicly. Our logo, branding, and website content are protected by copyright, and you may not use them without our written permission. Think of it as mutual respect: we’ll honor your work, and you’ll honor ours.
Our studio is a sanctuary for creativity, not a venue for illegal, harmful, or unethical activities. You may not use our space or services to create content that is defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, or otherwise unlawful. We reserve the right to review and refuse any booking request that violates these terms, or that we deem inconsistent with our values — because art should uplift, not degrade.
While we take every precaution to ensure your session runs smoothly, Juniperriverlane is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury that occurs on our premises, except in cases of our own negligence. This includes damage to your equipment, theft of personal belongings, or accidents during your shoot. We recommend securing your own insurance for high-value gear, just as you would for any off-site project.
You agree to indemnify and hold Juniperriverlane harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of our studio or violation of these terms. This includes legal fees, so we can focus on what we do best — creating beautiful spaces for beautiful work. It’s a standard clause, but an important one: we’re in this together, and we’ll protect each other.
We reserve the right to terminate your session or revoke your access to our services at any time, for any reason — though we’ll always strive to resolve issues first. If we terminate your session, you’ll be refunded for any unused time, minus your deposit. Similarly, you may cancel your booking at any time, subject to our cancellation policy. Think of it as a creative divorce: sometimes, it’s best for both parties.
These terms are governed by the laws of the state of Oregon, where our studio is based. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Lane County, unless we agree otherwise in writing. It’s not the most exciting clause, but it’s the foundation that allows us to focus on what matters: the work, the light, and the moments in between.
Guidelines as intuitive as the natural light in our studio — designed to keep the focus on your work, not the rules.
A great studio feels like an extension of your creative mind: familiar, fluid, and free of obstacles. These guidelines are the unspoken rhythms of Juniperriverlane, the subtle cues that keep the space flowing smoothly for everyone who passes through. Read them not as restrictions, but as the choreography of collaboration — how we move, how we create, and how we leave the studio better than we found it.
Arrive 15 minutes before your session to settle in, meet your studio host, and familiarize yourself with the space. We’ll walk you through the layout, the equipment, and any safety protocols, so you can start shooting with confidence. If you’re running late, please call us — we’ll do our best to accommodate, but your session time won’t be extended. The light waits for no one, and neither do we.
We ask that you remove your shoes upon entering the studio, or wear the provided shoe covers. Our floors are made of reclaimed white oak, sanded smooth and sealed with a matte finish that scatters light like a softbox. We want you to feel the texture beneath your feet — the subtle grain, the occasional knot — as you move through the space. It’s a small detail, but one that connects you to the studio on a deeper level.
You’re welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages into the studio, but we ask that you keep them in the designated lounge area. Spills happen, and we’d rather not risk damaging your gear — or ours. If you’d like to order in, we’re happy to recommend nearby cafés and caterers, or you can use our fridge and microwave to store and reheat your meals. Just clean up after yourself, so the next creator walks into a space as pristine as the light.
Our Profoto lights, Broncolor modifiers, and Hasselblad cameras are available for your use, but we ask that you treat them with the same care as your own gear. If you’re unfamiliar with a piece of equipment, just ask — we’re happy to demonstrate. Never force a connection, and always power down lights before adjusting them. Think of it as a dance: gentle, precise, and in sync with the rhythm of the shoot.
We’ve tucked cables into cable ramps and gaff-taped them to the floor wherever possible, but a studio is a living space, and hazards can shift. Watch your step, and if you move a cable, please return it to its place. If you’re working with a lot of gear, we’ll help you secure it safely — because nothing kills a creative flow like a toppled light stand or a tangled mess of cords.
Our studio is climate-controlled, but temperatures can fluctuate with the number of people and lights in the space. We’ll set the thermostat to a comfortable 72°F (22°C) at the start of your session, but let us know if you’d like it adjusted. We want you to focus on the shot, not the sweat — or the shivers. Blankets and fans are available upon request, like the subtle adjustments that make a portrait perfect.
We ask that you leave the studio as you found it: backdrops rolled, props returned to their shelves, and surfaces wiped clean. If you’ve used our changing room, please hang used towels in the designated bin. We’ll handle the final sweep, but your cooperation ensures the next creator walks into a space that’s ready for their vision. It’s the golden rule of shared spaces: leave it better than you found it.
If you leave something behind, we’ll hold it for 30 days before donating or discarding it. Check our lost and found bin in the lounge, or email us with a description of the item. We’ll do our best to reunite you with your gear, but we can’t be held responsible for lost or stolen items. It’s a gentle reminder to double-check your bags before you leave — like reviewing your shots before packing up.
How we’re removing barriers — because creativity should be accessible to all, in every sense of the word.
Juniperriverlane was built on the belief that great photography is for everyone: the seasoned pro, the weekend hobbyist, the brand telling its story, and the individual capturing a moment. That’s why we’ve designed our studio and our services with accessibility in mind — not as an afterthought, but as a cornerstone. This statement outlines our commitments, our progress, and our ongoing journey to make creativity barrier-free.
Our studio is located on the ground floor of a renovated warehouse, with a ramped entrance and wide doorways (36" clearance) to accommodate wheelchairs and mobility devices. The main shooting area, lounge, and restrooms are all step-free, and we’ve installed grab bars in the restroom for added safety. If you have specific accessibility needs, please let us know when booking — we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you, from adjusting lighting to rearranging furniture.
We’ve designed our studio to be a calm, controlled environment, with diffused natural light and sound-absorbing panels to minimize echoes. If you’re sensitive to light or sound, we can adjust the brightness of our LED panels or provide noise-canceling headphones. Our changing room is a quiet, private space where you can take a break from the shoot — because creativity shouldn’t come at the cost of comfort.
Service animals are welcome in our studio, and we’ll provide a water bowl and a quiet corner for them to rest. We ask that you let us know in advance if you’ll be bringing a service animal, so we can ensure the space is prepared. Emotional support animals are also permitted, but we may ask for documentation if their presence could disrupt other clients. Our goal is to make the studio a safe, inclusive space for everyone — human and animal alike.
We’re committed to making our website accessible to all users, including those with visual, auditory, or motor impairments. Our site is built with semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and keyboard navigability, and we’ve tested it with screen readers and other assistive technologies. If you encounter any barriers while using our site, please let us know — we’ll fix them promptly. Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we’re always learning.
We believe that cost shouldn’t be a barrier to creativity, which is why we offer sliding-scale pricing for independent artists, students, and nonprofits. If you’re working on a passion project or a shoestring budget, contact us to discuss your needs — we’ll do our best to find a solution that works for both of us. We also offer payment plans for larger bookings, so you can focus on the work, not the invoice.
Juniperriverlane is a space for creators of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. We’re committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and respected. If you have specific cultural or religious needs — such as a private changing area, dietary restrictions, or language preferences — let us know when booking. We’ll do our best to accommodate you, because creativity thrives in diversity.
We’re always looking for ways to improve our accessibility, and we welcome your feedback. If you’ve encountered a barrier at our studio or on our website, please let us know by emailing accessibility@juniperriverlane. We’ll respond within 48 hours and work with you to find a solution. Accessibility isn’t a checkbox — it’s a conversation, and we’re listening.
Our team receives ongoing training in accessibility best practices, from disability awareness to inclusive language. We’re not experts, but we’re committed to learning and improving. If you’d like to share your experiences or suggest resources, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can make Juniperriverlane a model for accessible creative spaces — one shoot at a time.
